- This is a try to translate the German file "Copyright.doc". Base for
- legal questions is the German file, which shall prevail. Sorry, my
- English is not the best, but I hope you can understand everything...

- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Preface:
-
- Since the author of the program "DisKey 3.0" has very high requirements
- to her program and since these requirements need a lot of betatesting,
- she claims the following conditions for spreading DisKey 3.0 to avoid
- that a program which is not yet in its final state gets a too wide
- distribution:
-
- Alpha and Beta-Versions of DisKey must only be spread by the author
- herself and not by anybody else. They are only for testing reasons for a
- small circle specified by the author. Any of these persons gets his
- version directly from the author.
-
- The rights below to spread DisKey so relate only - if not commited in
- another way - on so-called Preview-Version, like you can find one on
- Meeting Pearls Vol. II.
-
- Probably, the copyrights below will change as soon as DisKey is released
- in version 3.0 (without "alpha", "beta" or "preview").
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- If we talk about DisKey 3.0 in the following paragraphes, we mean the
- executable program and all files that belong to it. We also mean the
- documentation etc. - simply any file in this distribution. Versions,
- which still are beta and so have a "alpha" or "beta" in its names, are
- meant, too, of course.
-
-
- DisKey 3.0 and all files that belong to it are copyright (C) 1989-1996 by
- Angela Schmidt, Finkenweg 26, 89233 Neu-Ulm, Germany. All rights
- reserved.
-
- All icons in the doc directory are copyright (C) 1995 by Michael-Wolfgang
- Hohmann and must not be used in other projects without his permission.
- For more information about these icons please refer to
- Meeting_Pearls_II:Contrib/DefaultIcons/ReadMe

-
- Right to publish
-
- Nobody but me must publish new versions of DisKey. No betatester or
- anybody else must talk about the ideas in DisKey, about its features, its
- new functions etc. Of course, this also excludes presentations.
-
- If I publish any preview version (like the version on Meeting Pearls
- CD-ROM), you have the rights below to use this software. Any version
- that was not published by me (so-called alpha- or beta-versions) must
- neither be spread nor published. These beta testers may only make copies
- for their own use and are allowed to use the software.
-
- You can find out whether a version is a preview-, alpha or beta-version
- or not by calling the about menuitem. Or just have a look at the window
- title.
-
-
- Right to copy and spread
-
- 1. Registered keyfiles must not be spread. So rules below do not apply
- for registered keyfiles but for all the other things that belong to
- DisKey 3.0.
- 2. For *any* commercial duplication and spreading of DisKey 3.0 you need
- the written permission of the author. Since Aminet seems to be
- commercial (the administrator earns a *lot* of money from making
- CD-ROMs), spreading on Aminet is not allowed.
- 3..Non-commercial duplication and spreading of versions of DisKey 3.0
- which have been published by the author is allowed as long as you do
- it for private use. Duplication and spreading has to be done for NO
- FEE!!! Neither alpha nor beta nor preview versions may be made
- available to the public as long as one does not have a written
- permission. Of course this also excludes publishing these versions on
- FTP-Servers or in mailboxes. Passing these versions to your friends
- however is no problem.
- 4. Any duplication that is necessary to use DisKey (like e.g. copying
- the code into the RAM) is allowed.
- 5. Hereby I give the permission to spread preview versions, that have
- been published by the author, on Meeting Pearls CD-ROMs that have been
- compiled by Angela Schmidt. Duplications of these CD-ROMs that
- contain DisKey 3.0 are allowed as long as this happens noncommercially
- or as long as you have a written licence to duplicate the Meeting
- Pearls CD-ROMs. Making versions of DisKey 3.0 which are contained on
- a Meeting Pearls CD-ROM available to the public is hereby permitted.
- Of course this includes making them available on FTP-Servers and
- mailboxes.
-
-
- Right to use DisKey and disclaimer
-
- 1. Hereby you get the permission to use unmodified versions of DisKey for
- private, noncommercial use. This excludes using unregistered versions
- of DisKey to examine, modify, etc. data, which shall be used
- commercially.
- 2. Commercial usage is only allowed after successful registration and
- after payment of the licence fee. Registration can be refused in some
- cases. In these cases, commercial usage of DisKey will be impossible
- and usage for private, non-commercial purposes then is of course
- only possible in a restricted way.
- 3. Any user of this software uses it for his own risk! The author cannot
- be made responsible for any damage caused by using this software. The
- user accepts this.
-
-
- Changes
-
- 1. I forbit any change in DisKey 3.0.
- 2. There is absolutely NO liability for changed versions.
- 3. Publishing changed versions is strictly forbidden.
-
-
- General
-
- 1. If any of the clauses or conditions above offends against a law at any
- time and/or in any country, the clauses or conditions above shall be
- inoperative without restricting the other clauses or conditions. Any
- persons who are affected by this agreement, agree that in this case
- one will find clauses or conditions which are as near as possible at
- those clauses or conditions in this document.
